Sleeping Beauty on ice..
was good! the choreography was fantastic and the music(by Tchaikovsky) was obviously good. well, that is if you're into classical music..everything was nice.. there were a few slip-ups here and there. but heck.. they're only human:). the skating was good. i find that sleeping beauty's better than nutcracker on ice which i watched last year.the venue was 'the civic' theatre. love that theatre. like the decor.
but hang on..sorry, but this is possibly the only positive thing about it. the show everything was great. but i'm sorry. there were just too many ppl around me that just created such an uncomfortable environment that i just COULD NOT watch the show in peace. everytime the skaters a stunt that was spectacular(sometimes even NOT that spectacular) i cringe waiting for some person sitting in the row behind to start clapping LOUDLY and WILDLY and HOOT.. excuse me.. i know that you appreciate such a fine work of art. i do too. but i'm sorry.. i think you're not meant to just simply clap?! okay..i thought it was polite to only clap when a REALLY REALLY REALLY EXTREMELY spectacular/good stunt is successfully done.or when the particular scene was over. NOT just randomly.. and SO loud too.. you know those kind of piercing claps? and this was done CONSTANTLY! yeesh.. thank goodness that person decided to use HALF her brains half way thru the first act.
okay.. cool.. but that's NOT it. okay.. 2 ladies behind me were talking WHILE the show was on. geez.. and i could hear them over the music okay. the music was LOUD... and i could constantly hear one lady goin "OH.. that's LOVELY"(geez.. i can even mimic her now!) to her friend. okay, this is basically what i overhead:-
-one of the lady's workmates is apparently somewhat of a coward b'cuz she wouldn't confess to some screw up she made
-that same lady suffers from some muscular disorder that took a year to diagnose causing her face muscles to sag and her to have big eye bags
-same lady is 2 years away from her 50 years old. apparently she claims to have had a very nice body when she was younger.. even nicer than her juniors 15 years younger than her. she's apparently satisfired with how she looks considering that she's almost 48
-lady's fren tells her how amazed by how nice lady's facial skin is/was. she was impressed from the first day that 'lady' entered the office.
-lady's fren is 70 yrs old and was freaked out when saw 70 candles on her b'day cake or something like that. and plans to live another 30 yrs.
-lady's youngest son was going to do law but now may change his mind to do psychology. and lady goes.. "well, it's your choice. but to think that he'll be facing problematic/crazy ppl everyday"
-either one saying "Oh.. I'm trying to follow the plot. That has to be the evil witch(fairy) right?"*No.. lady.. that's why there are spider webs around and she's dressed in black with that evil grin on her face*
-also heard someone say " OH.. the gurls are just so LOVELY!!!" and when the gurls skate out in nice dresses "Oh.. LOVELY!!"
my reasoning.. do you talk in a movie theatre? no right? well, it's the same here okay. although there's not much talking. COME ON. I'M trying to listen to the maestro,Tchaikovsky's, music you idiots!
that's NOT it.. the guy and his partner on my right kept talking!! and TALKING!! has everyone forgotten the meaning of WHISPERING?!!! that i MIGHT be able to forgive.. but TALKING>. and everytime he claps.. i just cringe whenever he does. one.. cuz my ears are a bit sensitive due to my cold.. but then again.. his claps are SOOO LOUD and SHARP!!! and whenever he claps.. the whole chair shakes!! mmmmmphhh!!
there was a family sitting in front of me. with 3 little ones.. but you know what.. they were SOOOOOOOO WELL BEHAVED!! kudos to the parents! did a good job. i hardly heard a peep from the kids. although the son got up a couple of times. but i understand. my butt was sore too.. and he probably couldn't see very well over the front person's head. but helo??? you would expect the KIDS to be noisier than the adults?! apparently not. i'm damn proud of those kids and was seriously considering buying them ice cream. as stefan would put it "i KID you NOT!". even the kids were turning around wondering who was the idiot clapping for no reason.
oh.. i also found out.. that the bitchiest person on earth(at the moment la.. cuz i'm pissed off now) is not a SHE .. but a HE! and the award goes tooooo...*drum roollll* MY ELDEST SIS' FIANCE!!!!! whooooooo *clap clap!!* okay.. bitch.. he picked us up. but then couldn't find a place to park. called my sister's hp but she didn't answer. when we got in the car he was such an ass.. oh fine.. i was pissed off.. cuz come on.. things happen rite?? my sister fetches him up and down wan okay!!! drives him all the way to blardey howick. fetches him home from work.. shit head. okay.. fine.. so i might have been rude in retorting back.. but i just remembered something. you know how i said someone woke me up from my sleep? well, it was HIM! and he bloody HUNG UP on me!! and you know what?! it was cuz he thought it'll just be better to call my sis.. oh come on.. at LEAST tell me lar s**thead! bloody ass!! i didn't even tell him off that much okay!! just hassled him a li'l oni. wat a Pr*ck!
sorry ppl.. i'm having a cold too.. was sniffling throughout the second act until the li'l kid in front of me turns around.. heh heh ^.^.. and i just felt annoyed throughtout the whole thing. maybe it just so happens i was sitting in the wrong place today. oh well, dunno lah.. it was a good show. i'm privileged to have been able to watch it. i'm thankful for that. i just can't believe how rude the ppl around me were!
