On the subject of car accidents...
Matt got into one today. I don't know if he wants me to talk about it or not but this is how I deal with things... I talk it out. I need to.. spend all that nervous energy!
He called me at 11.30pm and the first thing he tells me is, "I nearly killed someone".
O.O"""
Shocking.. but he said he was okay but needed me to contact his mum for him as he had no credit (I'm his best mate so it's prepaid already). I call his mum and hang up the phone and I wait....
My goodness.. it's so painful to wait.. the agony of not knowing what the heck was happening. I just wanted to drive where he was and just see how he was but I had been told by him that I didn't need to. I should listen to my instincts next time.. I just didn't know if he'd driven off already or was still waiting around the scene. No idea what was happening.
Finally, 15 minutes later.. I couldn't take it anymore (hehehe.. I suppose you could say 15 mins is my threshold) so I call his mum as I didn't wanna bother him. His mum tells me that she's going to the scene of incident and I instinctively want to be there too. She tells me not to go and kept insisting that I stay home. I insist anyway and I think she kind of hung up on me.. hahaha.. not sure .. I was kind of semi-dazed la.. Think she was trying to make it a point for me to stay home. Meh.... but I ended up going anyway with my 2nd sis. My eldest sis was scared to go cause she was afraid there'd be blood on the scene. I was going to go myself one way or another.
Driving there, I just got more anxious. Nearing the place of incident I could see from afar the flashing lights of a police car. My heart sunk and I was worried sick that he had gotten in trouble with the cops. It felt like forever waiting at the traffic lights... I just felt soooo annoyed that Red wouldn't change into Green. Finally it changes green just in time for me to see the other set of lights in front turn amber! ROARR!!! Took a shortcut through the petrol station and park my car in front of this dodgy racerboy car.. So many racerboys congregated around the petrol station too!!
Approached his car and the police car... He was sitting behind and I just stood there waving like an idiot to get their attention.. T.T .. Yah.. I realise how stupid that would have looked now. Duh.
Turns out.. He was driving towards the motorway and was getting close to the on ramp when this cyclist just came out of no where and cycled off the footpath in a diagonal fashion and straight into Matt's pathway. They had a head-on collision and the cyclist basically flew onto Matt's car and shattered his windscreen.. I should've taken a picture of it actually.. mm.. I know I saw the cop take some.
You won't believe what happened right after that though. The guy GOT UP and RAN AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! It was a young white guy and he even lost a shoe and all but just got up and pedalled off.. Matt says that he wasn't wearing a helmet and was riding one of those BMX type bikes.. oh my goodness.. It's unbelievable!!!! Shit.. If you saw the windscreen you wouldn't think that he would've been able to get up and go.. Though, I have to admit I've heard of stories of people just getting up and leaving before.
All in all, it wasn't at all Matt's fault. Even the cops said so. Now, I just hope they find that idiot who rode right into Matt's pathway. Stupid idiot. It's not just the physical damage done but also the emotional damage man. Sigh.. I'm just really thankful that Matt's alright cause there was glass all over his shirt and everything. Fine particles but I hope it didn't get into his eyes or anything. :(
What a start to the long weekend.
I'm still thanking God that he answered my prayers nonetheless. Matt's okay and he's not in trouble. That's all I want and I'm happy for that..
