Expect the worst.
Funny how I always am inspired to write so much. However, the moment I am able to find time to actually start writing, my brain draws a blank. Maybe I'm just good as a dreamer.. not a story teller.
Funny how life hardly ever turns out as planned. For sure, I had hoped that my academic career would've been one that was cruisier than mine now. I had planned or hoped that I would have a clear idea of what I wanted out of life.. by now. But that sure has not materialised.
I sure had hopes of being able to take one of two papers as my elective. I doubt that is going to happen now. Wonder what I can or should take as my elective. Sigh.
I also hoped that me and my friends would not have drifted so far apart. However, I feel that is happening. And I think that has happened. I suppose.. none is to blame. At this point in time, I am still able to salvage whatever damage is done during the year. However, what I fear is to come. Following this coming April... I will most probably not return to Malaysia for another 2 years or maybe less. How then will I salvage my friendships? Ties that will be hanging for 2 years?
I do honestly dislike living a 'double life', as mentioned in a previous post, sometimes. It leaves so many things hanging. I feel so left out sometimes. I don't understand why. But I feel envious of friends who seem to have found a new bunch of friends and it is with them that they have most of the interesting fun with. Maybe it's a mirror of what I seem to lack in my life. Fun. But no.. I am also jealous that they have found new friends. Which baffles me.. Why can't they? Me being posessive? Mmm.. I guess what I feel is just plain being left out.
It is so hard to mantain friendships when it's so hard to keep in touch with people. Maybe I cannot blame them, because accessing the internet is not as easy for them. Or that they are just too busy with their lives. Unlike me, with so many holidays.. or being consistently bored at home. I don't know. But I always thought, that friendships were important enough to reply an email... albeit the reply being only a few liners. Is it too much to ask? Possibly, I just have too high expectations I suppose. It isn't as if I always live up to these expectations myself. I hate the fact that I don't know much about my friends anymore. Obviously I'm referring to friends whom I'm not constantly in touch with.
Well, like the title above. Maybe I should just start to expect the worst of everything. Then disappointment would be a faint feeling within my heart. I guess the best thing I could do now is to enjoy myself... as much as I can.. and store those memories that I can keep for life.
In other news, I enjoyed catching up with a few friends today. It was good. Laughed quite a bit. It was good.
In other news: Salsa on Friday! Erm.. apparently what my aunt was trying to teach me in NZ the night before my sister's wedding were salsa steps! heh.. oopsie.. hehehe.. Well, yes.. a few of us total sesat(lost) people are joining a bunch of amateurs(who at least know what they're doing), intermediate, advanced and professional salsa dancers on Friday. God may have mercy on me that some kind soul will pity the sight of me struggling to keep up with the music making a fool of myself that she/he will be kind enough to not laugh but show me the ropes.. Well, I'm not asking for miracles.. just a bit la at least.. hehehehhehehe..
And in other other news: My prediction of them changing the credit card system to a chip system would cause me problems. I just knew it! Today I was happy. Because I managed to find the Cantonese series I wanted to watch. I was also happy that the store now seems to stock more of these cantonese TVB HK series. So I was happy enough that I phoned my mum to ask her whether she thought it was a good idea to purchase one particular series. She gave me the greenlight. Even though it was more expensive than usual due to the length of the series. When I went to pay however.. THEY WOULDN'T ACCEPT MY CREDIT CARD! What cock and bulL! The guy was mentioning about how he couldn't use my credit card because his machine only reads chips. And i can't use my magnetic strip credit card!
And then I thought.. Then what about foreigners who have OVERSEAS credit cards LIKE ME!? What do we do? Where do we go look for cash if we happen to NOT have the ready means to carry large amounts of cash around!???? What am I supposed to do?
You know, I'm angry enough that I want to write to the newspapers. Sigh. This is just stupid. I have a feeling it's just that store because I've used my credit card in 2 other places and it WAS FINE. Stupid. Blah.
Anyway, I could only purchase one set in the end. Didn't have the moolah. This is ridiculous. Considering that I'm in a country where snatch theft is a common occurence and is treated by the police as "normal" and something which "nothing can be done to help the citizen"... you would think that one would want to reduce the amount of cash tottered around. Doesn't look like this is helping. HarumpHFT!
Anyway.. I'm sleepy and tired and I have things to do. So, I better stop yapping. Till later.
